Introduction:
It has been two months since that day when the once peaceful life on 'Daemos Island' was turned upside down. Things are only slowly returning to some semblance of the once easy and peaceful life. The children have tried to deal with what happened. They merely tried to protect their family, but that was not enough. 'Stani' was occasionally depressed still, despite Ferdinand's explanation of what happened.
One thing was for certain, the innocence of childhood for these boys was all but destroyed. It was impossible to fully restore, for this would forever change the boys, they knew what they were capable of doing to ordinary humans.
Ferdinand, Patrick and 'Stani' were in the lab, Patrick and 'Stani' working on the mainframe, while Ferdinand was checking one of the terminals. It had been the second time this week that the system had crashed, "Papa Patrick we have to face facts. These systems have been inactive for several hundred years, then all the sudden it gets expanded, and is put into near constant use for another hundred years. No matter how well built a machine is, it is going to wear out eventually. I don't give this whole set-up two more years before it's garbage." 'Stani' said as he was rerouting several wires to a jirryrigged processor.
"Well what are we supposed to do then? This equipment is still a good century ahead of anything human built." Patrick exclaimed, though he also knew 'Stani' was right.
"What about, ohh the crazy guy Krnik was talking about, oh Jebediah Berkshire, that's his name. He lives in Southern California doesn't he?" 'Stani' said excitedly, then his mood became more somber remembering that day, and what Krnik had done to his family.
"You have to get by this son, you didn't have any control, there was nothing you could do. Besides didn't he say that no one had seen this guy since the early thirties, he may be out hopping dimensions or something." Patrick replied trying to console his son.
"Never again will I lose control like that, never!" 'Stani' said grimly.
"'Stani' you are more Daemarrian then either Ferdinand or myself. They are a passionate and emotional people." Patrick said softly.
"And they can be very violent. I've done some reading as well, ancient Daemarrian cultures did that 'thing' I did as a rite of passage to be a warrior. It may have been okay 4,000 years ago on an alien world in another dimension by a sixteen-eighteen year old, but not here and now!" 'Stani' growled, it actually startled Patrick with how bestial it sounded.
Suddenly 'Stani' bolted out from the open panel, and sat 'Lotus style', and began meditating. It was something that has become very common for the children these past couple months.
"'Stani', we'll try your idea, we'll see if Jebediah Berkshire still walks this world, and see if he'll help. Just hope he's not half as crazy as Krnik said." Patrick said softly to 'Stani'.
'Stani' opened his eyes and looked up at Patrick, "Can I go, I know more about the network then even you, you'll need me!" 'Stani' said excitedly.
"We'll see, Ferdinand and I just don't want anything to happen to you guys. Most people would find a kid as big as anyone of you a bit alarming. You for example may be just as tall and even stronger, but your face and voice give away your age, you are an adorable, and beautiful twelve ear old boy despite how big you are." Patrick said with a warm smile.
'Stani' quickly stood up and embraced Patrick in a powerful hug and lifted him off the ground, "We can all go, that would be great!"
"We'll see, now can you please put be down!" Patrick gasped.
Later that night, "Do you realize just how insane this sounds. It's dangerous enough having either Patrick or myself in the outside world let alone you boys. When I recruited the houseboys it was a different world. People feared the unknown more, now they'll try to find a way to dissect it." Ferdinand said sternly.
"But Papa Ferdinand, I'm the best authority on the network, ask Papa Patrick, he'll tell you. And when you recruited the houseboys you got to see a lot of places too, none of us have ever been off this island!" 'Stani' replied.
This was the most heated dinner conversation since Patrick first arrived. It was definitely going to be one to remember for a long time.
"He is right Ferdinand, and we should take the others just to be fair, we may need them to help carry stuff if we can get parts from Berkshire. Besides we are going to teleport to within a few feet of his house, it's not like the kids are going to run wild in Times Square." Patrick said in defense of 'Stani's' position.
"I still don't like it, there is still so much that can go wrong." Ferdinand said, still holding to his position.
"We can deal the situations as they happen, we may still be just kids, but kids with an average I.Q. of 200, and able to bench press a bus." Gustavus added in, and Adolfus nodded in agreement with his twin.
"I still don't like it, but I guess I'll never here the end of it. Patrick next time, talk to me before you put ideas in the kids' heads." Ferdinand said exasperated about the whole idea.
The one thing that proved to be necessary was getting everyone clothes, despite Ferdinand making some objections, their was a way to do it. The plan was to teleport into some stores, also utilizing and invisibility spell, grab what they wanted, deposit the money in the register, and teleport out still invisible. Much to Ferdinand's nervousness the plan went off without a hitch, though the store employees will wonder why there was several thousand dollars in their registers on average.
The 'Orgone Assimilator' was set up and converted the clothing sizes without a problem. For the first time in near a century the inhabitants of Daemos Island were going to wear clothing, and for the children it was the first time wearing anything substantial.
The following morning everyone showered ate, and 'got dressed'. The children actually seemed to enjoy wearing real clothes. Though as Ferdinand looked at them he knew they would cause too much attention if they were in the outside world. Van Jr., and Drani Jr. were wearing high cut running shorts that, despite the sizes being adjusted looked very tight, and accentuated their crotches quite a bit. Little Hamad was expressing his musical preference, wearing baggy black keans, combat boots, and a black 'Metallica' T-shirt. 'Stani' and the twins were practically dressed the same, baggy khakis, that were still quite baggy, but again their crotches were also accentuated, and all three of them were wearing black "Ramms+ien" T-shirts.
'What makes it scary, the boys know what they are singing about, never should have let them learn German. I think their liking of this band only increased after the incident with Krnik, perhaps they find it consoling.' Ferdinand thought to himself with a smile and some deep thought.
Nicklaus was wearing tight jeans, and a tight white muscle shirt, all of his physical assets were quite apparent, he was going to cause more a stir then 'Stani' and the twins, 'He was always one of the more quiet boys, and he's looking more flamboyant then his brothers, who would have thought.' Ferdinand thought as he looked at all the children.
Ferdinand, and Patrick had opted for formal suits. Despite looking no older then eighteen, they were mentally much older then their bodies would indicate, and also from an older time. The houseboys had opted to stay home, many of them had far too many dark memories they now associated with the outside world, and opted for the simplicity and comfort of the castle, only Hohiro had decided to go, and he had also donned a formal suit.
They all gathered on the teleporter pad, their destination just a few feet from the estate grounds of Jebediah Berkshire. They all said their good byes to the houseboys, hoping to be back in a few hours at the most.
