Fairly well-written story set on an abandoned and isolated oil-rig in the North Sea transformed into a boarding-school for 14 boys of various nationalities, aged 10 to 18, all selected and trained for their beauty and appetite for sex. The supposed author, said to be 15, relates in great and sometimes very funny details how the boys sexually entertain monthly groups of adult visitors with pantomines (including a hilarious boy-love version of Cinderella) and other titillating games.
This fanatasy novel is quite exploitative of a group of boys primarily aged 9 to 16 who have been specifically trained to "service" rich old men on an isolated refurbished oil-rig located on shallow-water banks in international waters off the coast of England. The boys are notionally at a "boarding school" in every sense of the term, and do not appear to be able to leave the oil-rig. They are effectively trapped in a brothel to service visiting paedophiles.
The writing is replete with descriptions of sexual activity between the boys in various combinations, and many instances of intergenerational activity. Unfortunately, there is no gross sexual activity that is omitted. It is a repetitive, tedious, and ultimately overlong catalogue of rather twee, and sometimes objectionable descriptive writing. Notwithstanding, the author shows some evidence of a wide classical education. The title is a nodding reference to the bell-bottom naval-style uniforms worn by the boys.
